Brag about your Honda

Brag about your Honda - Things to know about Honda dirt bikes

Some of the best ways to know what is happening in the world of MX is to check blogs and press releases. Honda relies on the Powersports Division of American Honda Motor Company in Torrance to provide press releases to printed and online sites. Whenever the company decides to release new models, upgraded editions or recall parts on Honda dirt bikes, a press release is the best way for your contacts to get the word out to their motocross public.

honda dirt bike logos The year 2010 saw some serious upgrades to the CRF450R and then the company decided to turn right around and do it again for 2011. Competition has a lot to do with the continual changes because the fan base of different riders switches to the new ride when they change teams.

You might Brag about your Honda because of the way it handles or because you have restored it, but a pro's outlook is a lot more hard-headed.

Ricky Carmichael rode a Honda CRF450R in 2004, impressing the motocross world with his and the bike’s skill. Changes include a 46mm throttle body to increase the midrange and low-end power, lighter front forks, better rear wheel traction and a muffler with decreased sound emissions of 94 decibels. Better control is a feature any motorized conveyance benefits from and improved suspension linkage provides it. When asked to Brag about your Honda by the news teams, I wonder what he said?

Honda World Motocross saw Honda CRF450R success with Russian rider Evgeny Bobryshev securing fourth place in the 2011 World Championship MX1. Bobby’s second MX1 season with Honda surpassed his rookie season, where he finished in the top ten and won the British MX1 Championship.

Rui Goncalves of Portugal took sixth place overall in the 2011 Championship. Rui was 16 when he won a national Supercross title and the first Portuguese rider to win an MX GP, which he did in 2009. New to Honda in 2011, he graduated to the CRF450R. Previously with KTM, his bike was a 350cc.

The Martin brothers, Maurizio and Paolo, started the Martin Honda team in the latter part of the 1980s and continued to grow with the sport and Honda. Working with the engineers and technicians in Japan provides the ability to bring the best to racing. The event, held in Fermo, Italy, also honored the partnership of Honda and Martin Racing, celebrating twenty years of partnership in production of quality racing motorcycles.

Honda dirt bikes saw changes on the 2011 CRF250R, a mighty bike packing a light 227 pounds. The adjusted damping curve on the Showa fork eases mid-stroke performance. One feature that riders are not impressed with is the difficulty in starting the bike, requiring two or three kicks to fire regardless of the temperature.

Another Honda dirt bike that remains popular after all these years is the 2005 Honda CRF50F, one of the most marketed bikes on the market. The design includes a single-shock rear suspension, providing great control.

The inverted fork is an additional feature that supplements the steering and control. Revving up with power while maintaining a smooth, even ride, the 2008 CRF150R remains one of the favorite Honda dirt bikes. There have been a few modifications in the last few years but the overall stability and action remains constant, making it an excellent choice even now.

It is easier to recognize local MX riders, but perhaps the best riders across the globe will challenge each other someday. Then it will be an advantage to know names and techniques of riders around the world.
